Barts and The London is in the process of replacing many of its ageing buildings with state-of-the-art healthcare facilities to rival the best in Europe. The new hospital at The Royal London will provide general and specialist services to the population of east London and beyond. Wards and departments will move into the new building between December 2011 and February 2012. The first half of the new building at Barts now houses one of the most advanced cancer centres in Europe. Work is progressing on the second half of the building which will accommodate a cardiac centre of excellence.
